New LJ Community:

Here we have a new concept for live journal (probably not wholley original however)

Want to join my new magic wand club?

We dream of these special wands that find me love, a friend money, another friend a large horde of chocalate and alcohol, someone else wants to have *coughs* that's large, and another wants to know all the secrets of the world, a few others just want the problrms of life dealt with. I figure if we all gang up and wish enough, this special wand will appear by anthromorphc personification.

So here we are, post your hopes and dreams, your desires and wishes, your complaints and cures for your troubles, and as we get more and more, maybe these dreams will add up to that wand being real, and we can all have the lives we want.

So come on, join up and post already :-)

Dec. 26th, 2003 @ 07:00 pm Update: Forum and Website Changes
Current Mood: busybusy
I have started to change the forums a little, there will be new sections following the deletion of the Major Contributors section. If you are a major contributor, then dont worry, none of your work will be deleted so you wont have to re-post them.

I will move them to the appropiate sections. This will take quite a while. And yes I will probably be commenting on things as I go through them.

On quite a cheerfull note, the new year will also bring in a new and wonderfully improved writers-ramblings site. It will be easy to navigate and be host to wonderful sections that will continue to grow. Another much more unnoticable thing is that the forums has a sub address, you can quickly visit by going to http://forums.writers-ramblings.com, the chat applet is wonderfully improved, a help file should be up with it relatively soon.

If you havent all ready there is the christmas issue of our e-zine; The Creative Edge to download.

Please comment either here or on the forums for any queries or general comments regarding what has been addressed in this update.

Okay, I know I don't post here often. My Apologies, but I'm posting today to let you know that there will be some massive changes coming to Writers Ramblings if it is to continue and move forwards.

Over the past few weeks the site has seen a steady decline of new users, though we thank the new users that have come to our site, from our existing users there has been a rapid drop in the number of posts. Though I would again like to thank those that are still posting, their efforts are detracted from by the fact that few people are there to read the works, or put works up to compliment them.

This problem may be mine. I went away, with hopes the level the site was it that it would sustain itself. I was obviously wrong, at the moment I'm currently on a drive to up our profile and visibility on search engines, which in itself isn't easy considering the fact that funds are limited.

The changes coming up will be big, as to what they are that hasn't been discussed yet, but it will be in the near future. I am offering members of the Writers Ramblings live journal community the chance to air their views as to what is wrong with the site, what is right, and any ideas you may have to improve on the performance.

One possible change may be the forum software, though this would be problematical, a new style and ways of doing things could help make things clearer.

There's one suggestion, so keep them coming.

Yours sincerely

Sep. 11th, 2003 @ 08:22 pm Chat Night
Current Mood: busybusy
Inertiia has brought up the small fact the chat room has been rather empty most of the time, and that she would like to see something organised such as a chat night, where something vaguely writing relating can be discussed.
Anyone who is willing to moderate and keep these evenings up are welcome to volunteer, of course they must attend the night that has been set aside and it may be quiet at first.

The poll is here: Organised Chat (Site Suggestions and Bugs)
